OUR WORK WITH EARLY YEARS EDUCATION IN INDIA.<\/h3><\/div>\n\n\n\n

It is an exciting time to be working in education in India!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

\n The Indian government has recently introduced its new Education Policy and Curriculum Guidance NEP 2020.\n<\/p>\n\n\n

\n https:\/\/www.education.gov.in\/en\/national-education-policy<\/a><\/p>\n\n

The guidance gives a prominent focus to Early Childhood Education [ECE].<\/p>\n\n

Across India, initiatives are being developed to encourage the introduction of more active learning in the pre-school classroom.<\/p>\n\n

In some Indian states, Early Learning Centres have been set up to provide a support role for developing teacher education related to ECE.<\/p>\n\n

Their focus is on developing the best international practice in Early Years Education.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

HTTEF has now established a valued partnership with one of these new and growing education centres –<\/em>
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

VISITS TO THE UK<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2023 KEF representatives visited a number of Early Years settings in the UK to observe how teachers manage resource centred and active learning contexts. It was a useful opportunity for all involved to exchange ideas about different teaching and learning settings and approaches, and to identify and compare key teaching similarities along with relevant cultural variations\u2026..It was important for our teacher visitors from India, to consider how they might adapt some of the practical ideas and activities observed in UK Early Years classes within the context of Indian culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have since set up a teacher exchange programme where UK teachers visit and work with schools in Bangalore and alternatively our colleagues in Bangalore, visit schools in the UK<\/p>\n\n\n\n

THE FUTURE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Along with exchange visits we are currently supporting KEF’s approaches to in service training by providing ideas from UK settings that can be adapted to work in the context of India\u2019s private and government schools.
Helga Todd Foundation is looking forward to continuing its partnership with KEF and exploring different forms of collaboration in the future!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
