Catherine Thompson

Catherine Thompson – Trustee: Currently leading on policies, procedures and governance.

Before retiring Catherine worked in early years’ education for 20 years. Her roles included: head of a Children’s Centre, quality improvement officer, and university tutor. She has an MA in Early Education.  At the outset of her career, Catherine spent some time living in an Indian village undertaking doctoral research into the lives of women. She then moved on to work in social research and voluntary organization development in the UK, before retraining as a teacher.
In 2018 as a Helga Todd volunteer and with a teaching partner, Catherine delivered an Early Years CPD course in Delhi. After that she partnered with a team delivering initial training for early years teachers in the Punjab.
More recently, Catherine has participated in the organization of study visits for Indian teachers and trainers to the Uk and has been involved in online professional development training for serving Indian teachers.
Catherine would be interested in liaising with Early Years settings/organisations in the UK and overseas that would like to learn more about the charity’s work.
